Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal therapy is a nerve treatment, which is performed in order to save an injured or infected tooth. When a tooth is damaged from decay or trauma, the nerves inside the tooth may become inflamed causing acute or chronic pain. In some instances, the nerves will die and the necrotic nerves will cause an infection. With root canal therapy, the tooth is cleaned internally and then sealed to prevent any further infection. Finally, a crown is placed in order to prevent the tooth from fracturing. This treatment is a safe and commonly performed procedure to allow you to save your own tooth.
